Karen is our friendly face at our reception desk when you come through our doors. Karen really enjoys working with the public and makes everyone feel welcome while they are visiting our office. Karen is the proud mother of two grown children and an avid sports fan, especially her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Antigonish proud, Karen loves her community and our beautiful beaches which she frequents often in the summer months.
Pictou County native and mother of 3 girls, this is Allyson’s first position within the dental industry. Educated as a legal administrative assistant at Business College in 1995, Allyson brings 18 years of accounting and legal experience to our office. Every patient who comes through our doors will have the pleasure of meeting Allyson, who assists Dr. Richardson during the consultation process, prepares customized financial contracts for each patient, coordinates insurance plans, and helps patients schedule their appointments to start their treatment. Having lived in Antigonish for more than a decade, Allyson enjoys the outdoors and quality family time back in her hometown of Stellarton with her three young girls. With three young children of her own, Allyson is the smiling and happy face that will make every patient feel relaxed and comfortable as they start their special journey to a new smile.
After graduating from Antigonish Academy and completing one year of a Science degree at St. F.X. University in 2005, Megan pursued a career in dental hygiene at Dalhousie University. After 5 years practicing hygiene in general dentistry, Megan decided to expand her skills and joined our team. Megan loves seeing our patient’s smiles transform as their treatment progresses, and has acquired a high level of skill in our clinic. Megan also has great affection for her Setter, and shares her free time with her husband and family in Antigonish. Megan is a long time resident of Antigonish and has developed a reputation in the office for making delectable treats, though she too is a fitness enthusiast.
Haley has been a Registered Dental Hygienst since 2017 but has been helping our patients smile over the last several years. Haley enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it be snowmobiling in the winter, or enjoying family time at her oceanfront cottage in the summer. In addition to her active lifestyle, which includes Hockey, she adores her two young nephews and nieces, and is a proud resident of Antigonish.
With a reputation for being a huge Harry Potter fan, Devan joined our team in 2015 with enthusiasm and a big smile. A lifelong resident of the county, Devan is a 2012 Dalhousie graduate with expertise in Dental Hygiene. In addition to her love of travel, reading, and spending time with family and friends, Devan’s passion is taking her dog Gunner for long walks. Our patients feel very comfortable with Devan’s happy demeanor and gentle skills.
Brittany has been with Dr. Richardson since she opened her door in 2011, and had built an impressive repertoire of clinical skills to compliment the clinical and administrative functions in our office. This dedicated and hardworking employee graduated from Holland College in 2007 and has recently been promoted to managing our clinic. Brittany is also an expert in our orthodontic software and is fully competent in all areas of administration. An avid camper, she also cherishes her time with family and friends, and taking her puppy Charlie for walks.
Molly ,also a native of Antigonish, joined our team during the pandemic in 2020 and was quick to master the skills of a Registered Dental Assistant in an Orthodontic office. In her spare time she enjoys Taekwondo, and spending time with her family and friends. Molly has a good sense of humor and enjoys the company of her feline companions
Kazue immigrated to Canada from Japan in 1997 and studied at NSCAD. She employs her artistic talents when fabricating retainers for our patients. In addition to her lab duties, this cat-loving employee manages our sterilization centers in both offices. Kazue also enjoys Japanese cartoons and is a great team member with our office.
