Invisalign® is a product used to align your teeth just like braces do! Because the aligners are clear, no one can tell you are wearing them while they are moving your teeth. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign® is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been an effective treatment option for many of our patients-both teen and adult alike. We recommend that you schedule a consultation with Dr. Richardson to find out if you are a good candidate for Invisalign therapy.
Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, and brushing and flossing are no problem. Aligners are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. No metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments. Invisalign® also allows Dr. Richardson to view your virtual treatment plan so she can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
Dr. Richardson is Premier Preferred Provider of Invisalign, which is a designation given to doctors who have completed a large amount of cases and have expert experience using this product.
Dr. Richardson carefully reviews your case and orders your aligners once she is satisfied the result will be ideal. She receives a series of aligners from Invisalign- the number of aligners depends on the complexity of your treatment.
Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and is removed only to eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth. As a rule, you are expected to wear the aligners 22 hours/day. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position.
Your appointments with Dr. Richardson will be scheduled about every 8-10 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time varies from case to case depending on the complexity of your case The average number of aligners worn during treatment varies from case to case depending on the complexity.
