About Dr. Richardson

Dr.Grace RichardsonDr. Grace Richardson has had plenty of experience working with young people from her years as a junior high school teacher.  These days she is like every typical working mother, balancing a busy career with family responsibilities.  Her young daughter and husband are the focus of her free time when she is not “making beautiful smiles happen” at one of her three Orthodontic practices.  She also enjoys walking her dog and is an avid fan of movies on the big screen.

Dr. Richardson grew up in the Pictou County area and attended St. F.X. U. following high school, graduating with the University Silver Medal in Nutrition and Consumer Studies in 1990.  The following year she completed her Education Degree and accepted a teaching position in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories.  She loved her time living in the Canadian North and developed a new appreciation for its raw beauty and indigenous art and culture.

Upon returning to Nova Scotia, Dr. Richardson enrolled in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Dalhousie University and embarked on a new career.  Her dedication and commitment to excellence in Dentistry brought her numerous awards, and she graduated at the top of her class in 2001.  Because of her outstanding academic and clinical achievements, she earned a position in the Marquette School of Orthodontics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.   Her training at Marquette was exceptional, as was her exposure to contemporary Orthodontic philosophies by some of the world’s leading authorities.  She continued living in the U.S.A. following her education, working for several years in two urban orthodontic clinics.

Dr. Richardson is a member of both the Canadian and American Associations of Orthodontists, and is a Board Diplomat with the American Board of Orthodontists.    She also earned her fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada for her specialty in 2001, and holds memberships with the Nova Scotia Dental Association, Halifax County Association, Atlantic Association of Orthodontists and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.   She still maintains an active dental license in the state of Wisconsin. She and her staff attend numerous continuing education courses annually to stay Current with the most recent advances in her field.

Now back in her native province with family and friends, Dr. Richardson has never been happier.  Her mission is to provide above average patient care and deliver outstanding results.  She prides herself on being on the top of the latest technology, and is able to provide a superior experience thanks to her caring, competent, and friendly staff.  Dr. Richardson feels that she has the greatest job in the world, and could not be more grateful to be able to give her patients  beautiful, healthy, confident smiles.
